Effective health outcomes are more dependent on patient interaction than is discussed. When we build trust with our patients, their families and communities we establish stronger relationships through empathy and respect for cultural differences.

Cultural competence improves trust by promoting mutual respect, understanding, and open communication among diverse backgrounds, enabling people to feel appreciated and secure. It requires being aware of one's own biases, practicing active listening, and adjusting behaviors to respect various cultural norms, thereby minimizing conflict and reinforcing relationships.

Stay connected as we narrow the gaps of inequities through cultural competence.
